For ardha matsyendrasana (half spinal twist) you begin sitting on the floor with your legs stretch out in front of you. Bend your left leg placing your foot on the ground. Flex your right foot. Twist your torso to the right. Place your left elbow on the inside of your left knee and apply a equal pressure between them. Take your right hand behind you placing it on the floor, like a kickstand for your body. Take your gaze over your right shoulder. Breathe for 15-30 seconds here. Release your arms and then untwist.
