🌴#Dandasana ↔ #StaffPose or #StickPose on 👉@yogaalignment . . #beginneryoga with @yoga.with.en 👈 ・・・ . 🙋Today's #AlignwithEN How-To is about a great posture building asana: . 👉Dandasana or Staff Pose👈 . . ↪↪Dandasana from the outside looks simple, I mean how hard is sitting right? I can say that the first time I was cued into a proper aligned Dandasana i was shocked by how difficult it was to hold. This is a great asana to practise at home to improve your posture. When you are sitting on the couch watching TV slide down onto the floor and see how long you can hold your Dandasana. You will be pleasantly surprised that it gets easier and easier as you practise and you will eventually find yourself sitting up a little straighter in your day to day life.↩↩ . . 🙌Here are my Dos and Don'ts for Improving your Dandasana🙌 . . ✔Do✔ 🔸Gaze focused out front, neck aligned with spine 🔸Chest open and shoulders down and back away from the ears 🔸Core engaged 🔸Sit bones back and grounded 🔸Activate the quads by internally rotating the thighs 🔸Feet flexed 🔸Place a rolled up mat or towel under the edge of the butt to accommodate tight hips 🔸Have a friend help➡ sometimes its hard to tell if our backs our straight, have a friend tell you when you are aligned and try and remember how it feels for the next time you are practising alone. . ❌Don't❌ 🔹Look down at the feet creating a kink in the neck 🔹Close the chest and round the spine 🔹Shrug the shoulders towards the ears➡ you will hear the cue to lift up and elongate the spine, lift through the crown not the shoulders! 🔹Leave the legs and core disengaged➡ this leads to a weak base and will cause the upper body to slump 🔹Let your feet dangle out to the side➡ A flexed foot is vital in this asana to build our posture 🔹Get discouraged! If you can only hold Dandasana for 2 breaths at first that's fine, keep working and eventually it will become like second nature! . 🔊Always remember to listen to your body, yoga is a journey that doesn't happen overnight. DÍA 10 #RetoYogaBorn Asana #ParivrttaNavasana . 🔶Ejecución Desde #Dandasana deja pierna izquierda estirada en el suelo con cuadriceps activado y dedos del pie hacia la cara , levanta la pierna derecha y déjala estirada ,siempre que puedas sino mantenla un poco flexionada ( * te invito a que uses un cinturón o toalla que pueda facilitarte el estiraminento ) agarra con tu mano izquierda el canto externo de tu pie derecho a la vez que vas entrando en la torsión y tu brazo derecho también se estira . Brazos activos y fuertes. Tu cabeza y mirada hacia atrás en el sentido de la torsión.si puedes mira a la mano que tienes detrás. Recuerda alargar con cada inhalación y profundizar en la torsión con cada exhalación. La Torsión viene desde la cintura. Manten tu pecho abierto con hombros atrás y abajo conectando omóplatos. Crece en la postura . 🔸Mantén la postura de 5 a 10 respiraciones . Si conoces la respiración Uyaji activala. Lentamente deshacer y ejecutar el lado contrario🙏 Escucha Siempre tu cuerpo. Starting from today this therapeutic version of dandasana to help straitening my shin bones and hopefully fix a knee injury I’ve been working with for the past two years. My teacher showed me this version of the pose, with two straps getting the shin bones closer to each other and the inner knees to work against a wooden block. Practicando #medioparodemanos se requiere mucha fuerza en los brazos y de hombros, hay q ganar confianza y vencer el miedo. Yo, en lo particular, hace un par de semanas no podía ni ponerme cabeza para abajo, porque si bien práctico el paro de cabeza, el parado de manos da vértigo si no estás acostumbrado, sirve para ganar confianza...hace falta mucho entrenamiento y paciencia, pero esta es una buena técnica para ir ganando fuerza en hombros y espalda y llegar al parado de manos. Tenés que quedar a 90 grados, siempre en yoga trabajamos ángulos rectos. Podés sentarte en #dandasana contra la pared para tomar la medida de donde van tus brazos. Y a practicar gente!!! que #yoga es 99% práctica 1% teoría.
