पश्चिमोत्तानासन - Paścimottānāsana - Paschimottanasana - Extension of the posterior (western) part of the body - Forward Bend (Paschima Prattana Sthiti)
#paschimottanasana variation. Chairs legs tucked in between big toe and 2nd toe. Blanket as barrier between chair and body. Another folded blanket under butt, to create space in pelvis. Chair helps direct femurs down into earth; offers surface to guide spine into traction; and allows different hand placement for fold and side-bend. Block to rest forehead. Day #11 of the @thelotuspadtc #yogachallenge is #Paschimottanasana I am grateful for my students, all of my students, whether they are learning Spanish or yoga. They make me smile and inspire me to become a better teacher and student. Sure there are some days where the last thing I wanna do is teach but once class is over, I feel a thousand times better and am riding that teacher-high. Sadly, teaching is an undervalued and, in turn, underpaid profession but I couldn’t imagine doing anything else and feel incredibly lucky to have (somehow) found my passion. Growing up I never imagined being a teacher and now I can’t imagine doing anything else.
