I've been concentrating on keeping the abdomen soft. It's an important area of the body. This week I brought that into the asanas I practised. We have to observe the areas of our bodies that don't want to work and encourage the areas that work well to not over do, maybe do less. #VirabhadrasanaIII OR #Warrior3 this used to be a nemesis pose for me. As in, i hate it, i can’t do it, it sucks. So, i knew i had some work to do here....I also used to have what i thought was hip pain on my right side. Like, all the GD time. Went to see an orthopedic doc. Nope, not my hip, it was my back. He sent me off to Physical Therapy and I️ started making modifications to my yoga practice. Turns out, the reason i couldn’t hold this pose to save my life was due to a weak gluteus medius muscle. I know, you’re like, “what the eff is that, Nikki?” Well, I’ll be posting some interesting info on this forgotten smaller butt muscle and how it might be effecting your practice. Does pigeon bore you bc you can just hang out there for days like nothing? Or maybe you just can’t seem to balance on those one-legged poses?
